“Continuing with the words of Resûl-i Ekrem:”
This sentence and supplication includes all kinds of repentance and forgiveness. Due to its rich and deep meaning, it has been given the name “Sayyidul-Istighfar”. By reciting it, the servant expresses with all sincerity that their only God is the Glorious Lord and that their worship is only for Him. They declare that there is only one God and that they accept the covenant that their Lord made with them since eternity, demonstrating their sincerity by fulfilling their promise to their Lord. They thank the favors that their Lord has bestowed upon them, confess their sins with shame, acknowledge the need to seek refuge in Him, and express their desire to be forgiven by Him, as only He has the power to forgive.
“In his speech, the servant humbly admits his incapacity in an elegant way. With these words, oh my Lord, you asked us on the Day of Promise; and we said. I must fulfill and properly admit this servitude that I have accepted. Because you are worthy of it; but I am a flawed creature; I am incapable of showing you the servitude you deserve in the correct way, but I am still doing my best to try.”
“Immediately after that, the slave pleads, saying…”
“Then, the servant remembers with gratitude God’s blessings and confesses his sins, fervently wishing to be freed from them, but recognizing that he doesn’t have the strength to do so and pleading for it.”
