“Dear brother/sister,”
“The Qur’an informs the followers of the sacred scriptures that their own wise men and priests have taken their lords as gods. When speaking of those who converted from Christianity to Islam, the Prophet declares the following: Is it necessary to give a specific name to someone in order to take them as a lord?”
“Por ejemplo, the power of forgiveness and entry into paradise belong only to Allah. However, in Christianity, the pope and priests, who are their representatives, have usurped this power and use it easily. The aspect that concerns Muslims is of great importance. Because at least some Muslims may elevate their religious leaders to a lordly level without realizing it. What some members of the order say is a great mistake. If the leader they are attached to is truly a perfect guide, surely he will have many benefits and may be the cause of their salvation. But to think directly that the leader has such power without mentioning Allah is a great mistake. The most important task of perfect guides is to explain to their followers that they have no more power than being a means (to reach Allah).”
