Hz. Muaviye (r.a.), was one of the Honored Companions and he was also the brother-in-law and secretary of the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him). During the time of Hz. Muaviye, internal disturbances were resolved. The Islamic armies continued with their conquests and conquered Sistan, Afghanistan, and Samarkand.
