“During one year of the caliphate of Hz. Umar, the locusts decreased. The cause was investigated, but no information was found. This saddened Umar. He sent a rider to Yemen, another to Damascus, and another to Iraq to investigate if the locusts were present or not. The rider who went to Yemen returned with a handful of locusts and presented them to Umar. When he saw them, he exclaimed and then said the following:”
